An Interview with Jonathon Part I
by Kate Beckinsale

I arrived a little before 1pm at a home tucked so far into a crevice of Michigan's northern wooded lands that, if it wasn't for the two beautfiul dogs who greeted me in the driveway, I would've been gathering firewood to start sending smoke signals in hopes of getting rescued. Soon afterward, I was invited into the log cabin fortress, that you'd swear was built by the forest itself. We sipped iced tea and small talked our way to the family room which was imprisoned by windows on all sides, with two couches facing one another while a fireplace stood at the head. Jonathon sat down across from me and placed his glass on the coffee table.

Kate: This is your first public interview, correct?
Jonathon: Yes, that's correct.

Kate: What made you choose me for this maiden interview?
Jonathon: Well, let's face it, if I wasn't married and you weren't, oh...wait.

Kate: (Laughs.) How old are you?
Jonathon: 32

Kate: What is an average day like for you? Play by play.
Jonathon: Well, I usually wake up around 6am. Like most people, I grab some coffee and head to work. I get home in the evening, play with the dog, watch good TV or movies, catch up drawing or things online and then go to bed.

Kate: What do you do at work?
Jonathon: I'm a Graphic Art Specialist. I prefer the title Digital Masterful Dark Artist, but for some reason my boss isn't going for it.

Kate: (Laughs.) How long have you been drawing?
Jonathon: Ever since I was old enough to hold a pencil, I think. My grandmother saved the first picture I ever drew. I still have it somewhere.

Kate: Aw, that's nice.
Jonathon: Yeah, I thought so.

Kate: Your wife Katie, what's she like?
Jonathon: Hm. She's a fierce force of intellectual brilliance. She has this brain that's like a sponge with an organized filing system. When you squeeze it, all this random information oozes out all over you. She's beautiful and she's one of the few people who can still scare me.

Kate: Wow, really?
Jonathon: Oh yeah. She's like a ferocious bunny. Little and cute, yet mighty.

Kate: What's one interesting thing that most people don't know about you?
Jonathon: Oooh, that's tough. Okay. My nose is crooked.

Kate: Nuh-uh? Really? Look straight at me. Oh my gosh. It really is.
Jonathon: I get that a lot.
